About Lawrence Cole![]() Lawrence Cole is the Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Xtreme Marketing Systems. He started the company with a mission to show small business owners how to avoid his own frustrating experience of investing tens of thousands of dollars in over-hyped info products and coaching from "marketing gurus" who only offered small pieces of the puzzle needed for success. Lawrence built and managed his first website back in 1996 while working at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL as a college sophomore. The internet was still fairly new to the general public and NASA was one of the nation's premiere hot beds for internet activity and exploration at the time. His curiosity (and NASA’s high end computing resources) drove him to continue building websites as a participant in the "Wild, Wild, West" era of internet development while interning at Langley Research Center in Langley, VA and later the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. After spending several years as a web designer Lawrence began to pay his dues learning the marketing, copywriting, e-commerce, and back end systems side of online business after graduating with an honors degree in electrical engineering in 2000. He turned down full academic scholarship to two (2) of the top five (5) ranked graduate engineering education programs at the time and instead chose the path of entrepreneurial education. He studied the teachings and methodologies of marketing legends like Jay Abraham, Dan Kennedy, Cory Rudl, Mark Joyner, Carl Galletti, Gary Halbert, Yanik Silver, Tom Antion, Alex Mandossian, Armand Morin, Michael Fortin, Brian Keith Voiles, and countless others. Over the years he has honed his craft with a relentless work ethic and an intense passion for mastering the closely-guarded secrets of the most successful direct marketers. Lawrence’s corporate pedigree includes having been a sales executive for two (2) FORTUNE 500 companies (both in the top 150), a computer programmer for a former FORTUNE e-50 company, and a marketing manager and brand strategist for an award-winning internet company that made a name for itself by becoming the #1 organization in the world for online vertical market development. Lawrence is the author of Xtreme Marketing: How to Dominate Your Small Business Niche and Thrive in the New Economy and is a member of Mensa International as well as a Distinguished Toastmaster in Toastmasters International. He also volunteers with the Tiger Woods Foundation and is an ardent supporter of Kiva.org, an organization that provides micro-financing to deserving entrepreneurs in developing nations around the world. |
